chatting and the language classroom

  • levels the participation and contributions between teacher/student and student/student
  • lowers affective filter through a less threatening environment that encourages written language in the mode of oral discourse
  • allows for self-correction (remember Melissa yesterday)
  • allows for peer correction (Jonathan correcting my pizz_)
  • becomes a fun activity where students forget language is the goal
